How important is it to be liked, or accepted? I think all humans have the desire to fit in; however, is it worth the time and effort to get there?
Humans want to be in groups or tribes. It has been this way since the beginning of man. Individuals need a group of people to rely on for support and guidance. Unfortunately, in today's society, the "Alpha Male" groups are either the "Jocks" or "Athletes." Although there is nothing wrong with being in one of these groups, they are selective and not usually worth the time trying to get into. There are many social groups other than the two I have mentioned, but those are the two that most people try to join.
I have never "belonged" to a group. I have found lingering to be the best way to make friends. After a time, I became unsatisfied with not fitting in. That is why I try to meet other "lingerers." These people you may move along with and engage in conversation pertaining to all walks of society.
I apologize for the jumbled thoughts, but I would like to mention one VERY IMPORTANT thing: learn a little about everything. Become a renaissance man (or woman). By knowing a little about anything, you can have a conversation about anything. It's a great step to finding yourself as well.
Anyways, just some food for thought. I hope you guys take the time to think about it.

The "Friend Zone"
A lot of people complain about being put in the so called "friend zone." What is the friend zone really? I prefer to define it as when a girl used to like you and now she just wants to be friends or vice versa.
What is wrong with the friend zone?
Despite not being able to use the person for sexual needs, nothing. Many people have a problem with the friend zone because that is what they are looking for. They don't care about the person enough on an emotional level to be content with friendship.
Why is the friend zone better?
Friends and people who are always there for support make much better spouses. Not only are they much sweeter and caring, they are more willing to make things work.

Me, The Metro
Many people think life is monotonous; however, there is always a person the come along and "spice it up." So, here I am. I would like to start off by explaining why I started calling myself The Metro. The reason is, style has always been an important, fun aspect of life for me. I was often called gay due to my sense of style. It was around this time I meandered upon the word, metrosexual which is defined as "...a young, urban, heterosexual male with liberal political views, an interest in fashion, and a refined sense of taste..." I found this to be quite fitting, so I went with the title.
My view for this blog is to have a friendly, open platform on which to share facts and opinions pertaining to things like fashion and dealing with ladies. So take a look, if you like what you see, by all means, feel free to subscribe.
